Technology Enhanced Learning
Some top tips from our experts - tried, tested and effective!
Try out some 'Edutainment'
When students get actively involved with the teaching session, their learning is more effective. Think of the theories underpinning active learning.
Voting and quizzing is a great way to both engage the student as well as evaluate their learning. The university will have their own system but we also use quizzing tools such as socrative.com and kahoot.com and interactive tools such as mentimeter.com. Who doesn't love a word cloud!
Share and gather resources
A great tip which is cybersecurity-friendly! Padlet.com is a like a pinboard where you can share resources at any time with students and colleagues. It is free for 3 'padlets'.
Uses for padlet is vast - uploading pre-session material; induction to the teaching week; in session activities to name but a few. It is a favourite for us who has to share documents across institutions.
